Skellow Grange WMC - Doncaster

Sat, 9th Feb 2007

Looked like it was going to be a quiet night.

Weather had probly put most people off venturing out, supposed to be having 10cm of snow - wot a load of bollox! We got nothing but rain.

Club has been refurbished and looks v.plush. Comfier chairs and concert room done out with silhouttes of regular group members above dado rail...Glyn from Mens Club easy to spot.

Dave not doing ELO tonite but main man Shaunie not with us, which meant Aerial Mick standing in. If you want Satellite dirt cheap, he's your man!

Absolutely freezing backstage - we could see each others breath but thinking about it, we can in summer so nowt new.

Took us a bit to warm up but once we did, everything went smooov. Some excellent out-of-time dancers on the dance floor giving it summat!

All cool apart from Joolz not too pleased about me posting that bit about his (ex).

Apparently I haven't taken into consideration the delicacy of the situation and what's more, I never pictured his good side!

At least that's what these two told me...

'You're a bunch of @rseholes': These two, at Skellow, tonite...

Showed Ralph how to BlueJack by sending a message to about a dozen handsets that read 'SIM Invalid! Please contact your service provider.'

Kept me amused for while anyway...

Cargo Fleet Social Club - Middlesborough

5th Feb 2007

Haven't been here for while but last time, we hadn't been told we wouldn't be coming back!

Last night's concert willie was Johnny Cash, tonight it was Sam off High Chapparal's roof - but he did a good bingo caller impression.

The main topic of conversation this evening: Joolz was keen to make sure that nobody breathed a word about the bird he took to last nights gig.

The reason being she lives with someone and if he finds out she's out with SoulGlow behind his back, she'll be out on her @rse quicker than she can say 'SoulGlow' and that'll be real bad coz then she will have to walk to work and at the minute, his house is only round the corner...or summat like that.

The crux of the matter being: absolutely, on no account whatsoever, don't let anyone make it known that she was there, with Joolz at a Housequake gig.

Photo of Joolz ex he keeps on his mobi...

Despite Shaunie aiming the lights, us looking like a butchers shop window and plenty of OAP's, the night was a success.

Haughton Le Skerne WMC - Darlington

4th Feb 2007

Fuk me, where's the rest of the club gone?

Half of the car park is now filled with a block of quite smart looking flats, the stage isn't where it used to be and the whole club looks like it has been levelled, built again half the size and the whole thing moved a bit to the left.

Sold out!

Funnily enuff, last time we were here, the committee said 'You won't be back here again!'

Oh, OK so...where do you want us to set up?

It was something to do with us sitting outside the concert room taking peoples tickets.

Two years since we played here and it was a good un.

Dave theorised that the reason for this was the new buildings had most probably drawn some new interest.

Rich agreed that the overall aesthetic of the club lent it a very clean almost hospital/office like appeal, which would no doubt entice the inhabitants of the posh new flats.

Chappie argued that on the grounds of it being a relatively long abstinence, how could we possibly conjugate that conclusion as we never remember the people we meet anyway.

Ralph quickly berated him, winning the argument by raising his voice and shouting down this incredulous outburst, making Pauls input appear too weak and stupid to take seriously.

Shaun was quick to enter the debate, re-iterating that we are just a bunch of talentless tw@ts who enjoy nothing more than having a good laff and, this is perceived by the audience - via the medium of performance - endearing us to both intellectuals and neanderthals alike.

Joolz stipulated it was time he had a photo taken on his mobile fone...of himself!

I sat back and asked wot the fuk everyone had been drinking.

Skeggy said he'll get us back!
